It was narrated that Jabir said:
“Asma’ bint ‘Umais gave birth to Muhammad bin Abi Bakr and sent word to the Prophet ﷺ. He told her to take a bath, fasten a cloth around her private part and begin the Talbiyah.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ نُفِسَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ بِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ـ ﷺ ـ فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ وَتَسْتَثْفِرَ بِثَوْبٍ وَتُهِلَّ .
