Shama'il al-Muhammadiya 107

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that when Makkah was conquered, Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the city wearing a black turban

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ (ح) حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ.

Shama'il al-Muhammadiya 108

Amr bin Huraith (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "I had seen Messenger of Allah ﷺ wear a black turban.

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُسَاوِرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ.

Shama'il al-Muhammadiya 109

Amr bin Huraith (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that Sayyidina Messenger of Allah ﷺ was once delivering the sermon, and there was a black turban on his auspicious head.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مُسَاوِرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرُو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، خَطَبَ النَّاسَ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ.

Shama'il al-Muhammadiya 110

Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)ma reports, "When Messenger of Allah ﷺ fastened an amaamah (turban), he used to put the shamlah between his shoulers (i.e. he used to put it on the back)."Nafi says, "I had seen Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)ma do it in the same manner."Ubaidullah, who is the student of Nafi, says, "In my time the grandson of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), Qasim bin Muhammad and the grandson of Umar radiyallah anhu, Saalim bin Abdullah did the same.

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، إِذَا اعْتَمَّ، سَدَلَ عِمَامَتَهُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ..

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)ma reports, "Sayyidina Messenger of Allah ﷺ was once delivering a sermon. He was wearing a black turban, or an oily strip of cloth.

حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ، وَعَلَيْهِ عِصَابَةٌ دَسْمَاءُ.
