This hadith has been reported on the authority of Jabir through another chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of words:" The mouse may set the house on fire over its inhabitants."
وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِهِمْ وَقَالَ
" وَالْفُوَيْسِقَةُ تُضْرِمُ الْبَيْتَ عَلَى
أَهْلِهِ " .
