He Frowned
﷽
The Noble Qur'an بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ ﴿١﴾ |
English - Sahih International The Prophet frowned and turned away(1) |
The Noble Qur'an أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ ﴿٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting].(2) |
The Noble Qur'an وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ يَزَّكَّىٰٓ ﴿٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified(3) |
The Noble Qur'an أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ ﴿٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him?(4) |
The Noble Qur'an أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰ ﴿٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International As for he who thinks himself without need,(5) |
The Noble Qur'an فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰ ﴿٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International To him you give attention.(6) |
The Noble Qur'an وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ ﴿٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified.(7) |
The Noble Qur'an وَأَمَّا مَن جَآءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ ﴿٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge](8) |
The Noble Qur'an وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ ﴿٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International While he fears [Allah],(9) |
The Noble Qur'an فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ ﴿١٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International From him you are distracted.(10) |
The Noble Qur'an كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ ﴿١١﴾ |
English - Sahih International No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder;(11) |
The Noble Qur'an فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ ﴿١٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International So whoever wills may remember it.(12) |
The Noble Qur'an فِى صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ ﴿١٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International [It is recorded] in honored sheets,(13) |
The Noble Qur'an مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍۭ ﴿١٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International Exalted and purified,(14) |
The Noble Qur'an بِأَيْدِى سَفَرَةٍ ﴿١٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels,(15) |
The Noble Qur'an كِرَامٍۭ بَرَرَةٍ ﴿١٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International Noble and dutiful.(16) |
The Noble Qur'an قُتِلَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَآ أَكْفَرَهُۥ ﴿١٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he.(17) |
The Noble Qur'an مِنْ أَىِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ ﴿١٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International From what substance did He create him?(18) |
The Noble Qur'an مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُۥ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ ﴿١٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;(19) |
The Noble Qur'an ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُۥ ﴿٢٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then He eased the way for him;(20) |
The Noble Qur'an ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقْبَرَهُۥ ﴿٢١﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.(21) |
The Noble Qur'an ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنشَرَهُۥ ﴿٢٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.(22) |
The Noble Qur'an كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُۥ ﴿٢٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him.(23) |
The Noble Qur'an فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓ ﴿٢٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then let mankind look at his food -(24) |
The Noble Qur'an أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا ٱلْمَآءَ صَبًّا ﴿٢٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International How We poured down water in torrents,(25) |
The Noble Qur'an ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ شَقًّا ﴿٢٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts],(26) |
The Noble Qur'an فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا ﴿٢٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International And caused to grow within it grain(27) |
The Noble Qur'an وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا ﴿٢٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International And grapes and herbage(28) |
The Noble Qur'an وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا ﴿٢٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International And olive and palm trees(29) |
The Noble Qur'an وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبًا ﴿٣٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International And gardens of dense shrubbery(30) |
The Noble Qur'an وَفَٰكِهَةً وَأَبًّا ﴿٣١﴾ |
English - Sahih International And fruit and grass -(31) |
The Noble Qur'an مَّتَٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ ﴿٣٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock.(32) |
The Noble Qur'an فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ ﴿٣٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International But when there comes the Deafening Blast(33) |
The Noble Qur'an يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ ﴿٣٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International On the Day a man will flee from his brother(34) |
The Noble Qur'an وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِ ﴿٣٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International And his mother and his father(35) |
The Noble Qur'an وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِ ﴿٣٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International And his wife and his children,(36) |
The Noble Qur'an لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ ﴿٣٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.(37) |
The Noble Qur'an وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ ﴿٣٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -(38) |
The Noble Qur'an ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ ﴿٣٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International Laughing, rejoicing at good news.(39) |
The Noble Qur'an وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ ﴿٤٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust.(40) |
The Noble Qur'an تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ ﴿٤١﴾ |
English - Sahih International Blackness will cover them.(41) |
The Noble Qur'an أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَفَرَةُ ٱلْفَجَرَةُ ع ﴿٤٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.(42) |
